Privacy
The short version: the application reads files from your own device and sends us nothing. What we hold is what you deliberately put there — an account, a subscription, and any notes you switch on cloud storage for.
What the application does without an account
Opening folders, rendering, search, code execution, OCR and export all run locally. In that mode the application does not transmit your documents, and there is nothing on our side associated with you, because there is no account.
What we store if you create an account
| Data | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | Identifies the account and receives confirmation and password-reset codes | Amazon Cognito |
| Subscription state — plan, expiry, and which billing system it came from | To know whether paid features are available to you | Amazon Cognito user attributes and Amazon DynamoDB |
| Payment identifiers | To match a payment to your account and to prevent the same payment being redeemed twice | Amazon DynamoDB |
| Notes you save to cloud storage | Only if you turn cloud storage on. This is the feature you are paying for | Amazon DynamoDB |
| An active-session marker | To enforce one concurrent session per subscription | Amazon DynamoDB |
Payments
Payments made on this website are processed by Razorpay. Card and banking details are entered on Razorpay's own checkout and are never sent to us or stored by us — we receive a payment identifier and a signature, which is what we verify. Subscriptions bought inside the Android or iOS application are processed by Google Play or Apple under their own privacy terms, and we receive only a purchase token to validate.
AI features
These are optional and off unless you use them.
- On a full subscription, the text you send to an AI feature is relayed through our servers to the model provider so that the provider is billed to us rather than to you. We do not retain that text after the response is returned.
- On a BYOK subscription, your application talks to Anthropic, OpenAI or Google directly using your own key. That traffic never reaches our servers, and we cannot see it.
Encryption
Cloud storage can be end-to-end encrypted with a passphrase you choose. If you enable it, we hold ciphertext we cannot read, and we cannot recover your notes if you lose the passphrase. If you do not enable it, notes in cloud storage are stored unencrypted at the application level and are readable by us in principle.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no sale or sharing of personal data with advertisers.
- No third-party analytics or tracking scripts on this website. The only external script any page here loads is Razorpay's checkout, on the account page.
- No reading of your local files. The application has no telemetry that reports file names, contents or paths.
Your choices
- Use the application without an account, indefinitely.
- Turn cloud storage off and keep everything local.
- Ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it. Write to the support address below and it will be deleted, along with your notes in cloud storage.
